SS JOHN AND PAUL CHURCH APPLE ORCHARD
Now that the cold weather has coaxed the apple trees into dormancy, it is time to start pruning! Parishioners and Master Gardeners are invited to get an early start on logging their volunteer hours while helping to feed the hungry in our local community.
Please dress for the weather and bring your own pruning tools. Meet at the shed behind St. John and Paul Church. Please let me know if you are planning on joining us. Please include your contact information: name, email address and phone number.

The Master Gardeners and gardeners at the Octagon House in Washington Township call themselves “Octagardeners”. Currently, the Octagardeners number 18 active volunteers and we are actively recruiting Master Gardeners in-training to join our team.
Each Octagardener has adopted or been assigned one or more gardens in the complex. Some of the gardens include a terrace “tea” garden, a heritage rose garden, a certified butterfly garden and many more beds touched by the creativity of the individual gardeners. That is part of the success of the Octagarden, allowing each gardener to utilize their unique talents to create a one-of-a-kind garden plot.
